Introduction

Department of Zoology  is established in June 2007 with 19  students at F.Y. B. Sc. level. This Department is integral part of the college and is one of the best Departments in Life Sciences. The dept. runs B.Sc. three year degree course as one of the optional subject at UG level. Dept. has 500 sq. feet built up area with one laboratory. In a short span of time Department has earned lot of reputation for providing quality education and fulfilling growing needs within the district and Dr B.A.M.U Jurisdiction. Dept. consists of well equipped Laboratory with Computing facility enabling the students to work. Enough laboratory time is made available to the students for maximum utilization of laboratory. Our main strength is highly qualified and experienced faculty members actively engaged in research and are very enthusiastic in learning & updating their skills. Faculty members are always ready to guide students apart from regular teaching hours. And day by day increasing the students admissions in zoology ,now a days in FY having more than 120 students,SY 100 and TY 80  because of droup out rate students are  descending .from 2007 to 2021-22 ample of students taking the benefits of it.

Objectives of the Department

The department was started with the following  aims and objectives

• To provide higher education in Zoology to rural, hilly, backward & tribal students
• To create awareness among the students about the Zoology and train them in the subject
• To provide sound understanding of the principles of Zoology
• To provide a professional level of competence to the students in Zoology
• To reflect the current and emerging trends in the field of Zoology
