Department of Microbiology

Introduction

The Department of Microbiology was established in 2007. Microbiology is emerged as one of the important subjects in modern age of development. The Department of Microbiology is committed to develop indigenous environmental friendly technology through research and produce skilled human resource of world class standards which is useful of Microorganism to industrial ,Agricultural importance  and to resolve environmental problems & create environmental awareness. The Department has excellent infrastructure for teaching and research. To impart knowledge of the basic principles of bacteriology, virology, mycology, immunology and parasitology including the nature of pathogenic microorganisms, pathogenesis, laboratory diagnosis, transmission, prevention and control of diseases common in the country. The goals for this laboratory course is to provide the students with a basic fundamental knowledge of how microorganisms grow, react with specific types of growth media and their biochemical reactions with media used in identification.  Laboratory procedures are used to show students the effects of antimicrobial chemotherapeutic drugs on specific bacteria.

Students will be given unknown organisms to identify, using all the knowledge they have obtained during the semester performing the aforementioned lab exercises.

Mission
